Directions

You can try flying directly to Salamanca airport. Another option is to fly to Valladolid Airport or Barajas International Airport in Madrid, the closest international airports to Salamanca

If you fly to Salamanca

You may fly directly to Salamanca airport (through Barcelona or Málaga international airport. It is the most convenient option and worth a try but not always possible because there are only 2 or 3 flights every day with different companies. So finding a good connection schedule may be difficult. If you manage to fly directly to Salamanca, the easiest way to get to town centre is to take a taxi (around 20 EUR each way).
We do not recommend flying to Madrid, then to Barcelona, then to Salamanca. It would be easier and cheaper to get from Madrid to Salamanca by coach or train (see below).

 If you fly to Valladolid

Flying to Valladolid International Airport (at Villanubla) would be convenient. You may want to try this option particularly if you fly from London-Stanstead, Paris-Orly, or Brussels. Valladolid is 100 Km away from Salamanca. There is a direct coach form Valladolid International Airport (at Villanubla) to Salamanca coach station, but services are scarce. Therefore, the most convenient option would be to take a taxi to Valladolid Coach (or Train) Station, then take the (coach or train) to Salamanca, and then take a taxi to town centre. The whole journey would take 90 min plus connection times.

 If you fly to Madrid

If you land in Madrid-Barajas International Airport, the easiest way to get to Salamanca would be to take a direct bus form the airport (terminal 1) to Salamanca coach station and then take a taxi from Salamanca coach station to town centre (in this case it is required to purchase tickets through Internet: click here to see coach timetables and purchase the tickets). If the airport coach schedule does not suit you, you can take a taxi from the airport to Estación Sur de Autobuses, take the express coach to Salamanca (click here to see coach timetables and prices), then take a taxi from Salamanca coach station to the town center. Alternatively, you can take the metro or a taxi to Chamartin train station, then take the train to Salamanca, and then take a taxi to town center (click here to see train timetables and prices). The journey can take 3 hours plus connection times.
