I have a master degree in Civil Engineering from Denmark’s Technical University (1994) with emphasis on acoustics and signal processing. My career in hearing started at the University Hospital of Copenhagen by designing a high stimulus rate Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) system for newborn hearing screening. My interest in OAEs continued while I worked at GN Otometrics designing their clinical OAE equipment. After returning to Copenhagen’s University Hospital, my research was centered in the use of OAEs to diagnose Ménière’s disease. My current research focuses on using OAEs and psycophysical methods to estimate basilar membrane non-linearity.
